More recently we have achieved ISO22000 in food safety, and also adhere to most of the ISO14000 environmental accreditation – our success in this area is borne out by awards in both 2009 and 2010 for environmental achievement. Established 250 years

We celebrated our 250th anniversary in 2010, John Wood having started trading 'at ye Angel & Scales ye corner of Queen Street’ in Watling Street, London' in 1760.

Thanks to a grant from the Young Roots programme of the Heritage Lottery Fund, a project was initiated to make the Herbert collection of products and documents, together with memories of its staff through the ages, available to a much wider audience through the creation of a Herbert History website.
